Dark Strike of Desire. This one came together rather fast, and that’s exactly what I was trying to do. Fast and minimalistic with just white, black, and gold. I started with layered whites and greys, then carved through with black, letting each stroke stay raw and expressive. A few splatters and suddenly it felt alive, a little unhinged, a little seductive. There’s a movement to it that feels instinctual and spontaneous, I hope.

It also pairs up well with several others I’ve done in a minimalist style with only black, white, and gold. This piece pairs beautifully with the Whispering Gold series — displayed together they create a striking visual story, though each piece is equally powerful on its own.
